Congratulations on receiving a City Grant and welcome to your toolkit!


We’re excited to have you onboard to help contribute to making Civic, Braddon and New Acton vibrant destinations.


Whether you’re hosting an event, undertaking research, installing public art or anything in between there will undoubtedly be an opportunity for promotion along the way.

See below a handy list of tools that will help you get started on the journey.

There are four tools in this kit.  First up, you need to fill out the communication content template.  The other tools are optional, but will help get the word out about your project to make it a success.

Communication content template

You’ve got an amazing project planned, and it’s now time to work out how to tell people about it.  Grant recipients need to promote their own activities, but we can help you by also using the City Renewal Authority’s communication channels.  This includes supporting your project via our website, ACT Government staff newsletter, internal directorate messages, and social media to name just a few.    


All you need to do is tell us a little about your project and provide images or video content. 


Tool 2

Tone of voice guide

Tone of voice isn’t what we say, but how we say it. It’s the language we use, the way we construct sentences and the personality we communicate.

Here at the City Renewal Authority we’ve got a friendly, go get ‘em attitude. We write with inclusive, colourful language and prefer to use an informal tone most of the time.

Above all, what’s most important to us is that our communication is clear and easy to understand.

Making promotional material? You’ve come to the right place!


Making sure your project looks good and is consistent across all your platforms makes it easier for people to find information and will build trust in your activity.   


Inside you'll find both explanations and sizing information for all kinds of materials, as well as some templates for the most common digital and print mediums (Facebook, Instagram, posters, flyers etc).

Need some ideas on how to get the word out about your awesome project? Look no further.

Making sure people know about your project, event or activity can be half the battle in ensuring it’s a major success. That’s why it’s important to put in the hard work early in planning, implementing and managing your promotion so that you get the results and widespread awareness your project deserves.
